Przeczytajcie sobie fragment z instrukcji Lichtenberga o gaszeniu pożaru. To mnie prawie zabiło, lepszego przykładu tragicznej łopatologii można szukać ze świecą Chodzi o to, że w przypadku pożaru należy osłaniać znajdujące się najbliżej płonącego domu ściany sąsiednich budynków- a oto w jaki sposób to zostało wyłożone:

"Gdy dom się pali, trzeba przede wszystkim starać się osłaniać prawą ścianę domu, stojącego po lewej stronie oraz lewą ścianę domu, stojącego po prawej stronie; gdyby bowiem chciano osłaniać lewą ścianę domu z lewej strony, to przecież prawa ściana domu jest na prawo od lewej ściany, a zatem, ponieważ ogień znajduje się na prawo i od lewej i od prawej ściany (przyjęliśmy bowiem, że dom stoi na lewo od ognia), przeto prawa ściana bliższa jest od ognia niż lewa, i nie osłoniona mogłaby spłonąć , zanim by ogień doszedł do lewej, osłonionej.
